About Us
Ivy Elite Education was founded on the belief that genuine engagement is what actually drives a student forward. Our curriculum is built specifically for our students — designed around real texts, meaningful themes, and each student's individual goals.
Every lesson draws on real books, films, poems, articles, and speeches, chosen for their capacity to spark genuine curiosity and thinking. The most powerful learning happens when students are genuinely engaged in the process of thinking, questioning, and forming their own ideas.
Every student's journey looks different — and our tutors walk alongside each one.
Our tutors are experienced, having a strong background in teaching the Victorian English Curriculum. They meet each student where they are: whether that means building up foundational skills from the ground up, nurturing a student's confidence to tackle VCE, preparing for a challenging scholarship or AEAS exam, developing better study habits, or simply sitting down and doing the hard, focused work that improvement requires.

Language is a subject to be studied, and also something to be lived. The best lessons draw on the world outside the classroom just as much as the texts within it: the conversation that changes the way you see something, the song lyric that pulls you back in time, the poem that makes the ordinary strange and beautiful. When students learn to connect language to their own experience, and to find the human experience in what they read and write — they become greater thinkers, something that no amount of rote learning can replace.

There is a certain satisfaction in a sentence that lands exactly right — where the structure, the word choice, and the idea all click in place. It is a powerful moment when students learn that language, when intentionally put together well, can make a character unforgettable, an idea impossible to dismiss, or a story that stays with a reader long after the last page. Learning to write well is really learning to think well — and watching that realisation land in a student is one of the most wonderful parts of teaching English.

For students learning English as an additional language, that journey is about finding your voice in a new language, and having enough confidence and trust in that voice to use it. Our teaching honours what a student already knows and thinks in their first language, and builds a bridge to expressing those same ideas in English.
Looking Ahead
We are currently fully online, with all lessons held via Zoom.
We are expanding into face-to-face learning, with dedicated classroom spaces planned in South-East Melbourne. This will allow us to introduce tutoring for Prep to Year 2, as well as small group classes alongside our one-on-one program, creating a more connected learning environment for students who thrive in a classroom setting.
